The busy argument is completely accurate. Here’s a little aside from my life. I was selected to do jury duty in mid February, but I didn’t want to ask for time off if I wasn’t selected for it. So I work six days in a row, then take a shuttle out to Phoenix for a day to see if I get called, and I do. So I sit, and the people settle out of court and I go home. And then I hade six more days of work in a row. That took a lot out of me. If I had been selected, it would have been four days a week for four weeks. At half-minimum wage. And I would have still been expected to work those three days I wasn’t doing jury things, because who’s gonna cover for me? Not the one other guy who opens. that’s not fair.
So if jury duty wasn’t so fucking inconvenient, I wouldn’t mind it.
